“Den 21 September 1982 spelade W.A.S.P. sin första show på Troubadour i Los Angeles. 30 år senare startar bandet sin jubileums turné “30 years of Thunder” i England och sedan över hela världen. Denna världsturné kommer bli det största spektakel W.A.S.P. någonsin skapat.
Det två timmar långa showen kommer vara uppdelad i tre delar. En timmes set med material från de fyra första albumen. Det andra setet kommer vara en 25 minuters förkortad version av “The Crimson Idol” komplett med film. Det tredje setet kommer bestå av material från deras nya album som släpps i år, äldre material samt allt däremellan. Denna show kommer ha flera videoskärmar, pyroteknik och element från de tidiga W.A.S.P. konserterna (kanske t.o.m. en exploderande “cod piece”) and Blackie´s mikrofonstativ “Elvis”. På denna turne kommer W.A.S.P. göra hela 9 spelningar i Sverige, förband är svenska BADMOUTH. “30 years of thunder” - Utlovas bli den bästa och största W.A.S.P. världsturnén någonsin!”

“A few years back, the tenants in a Manhattan office high-rise complained vigorously about the long wait for the elevators. Computer programmers were brought in to change the algorithms, but the complaints got worse. New, faster motors were installed at considerable expense, but the complaints continued and many tenants threatened to move out. In desperation, the owner hired structural engineers to estimate the cost of installing additional elevator shafts. The cost of installation along with the reduced rentable space would be ruinous. At this point, the owner’s cousin suggested putting mirrors next to the elevators. This was done and the complaints stopped.”

With hashbang URLs, the browser needs to download an HTML page, download and execute some JavaScript, recognize the hashbang path (which is only visible to the browser), then fetch and render the content for that URL. By removing the need to handle routing on the client, we remove many of these steps and reduce the time it takes for you to find out what’s happening on twitter.com.”

- Yup, one of the big problems with using hashbangs, if you use pushState you have no problem rendering the first hit server-side, serve some client side templates and from there request and serve all upcoming hits as JSON and render client side. You could avoid bootstrapping the client side rendering framework and let all stuff go server side for lesser clients. Key is sharing templates between client and server rendering and using pushState to keep valid URI:s. Planet Framework by ESN, used for building Battlelog makes great use of this, and not only does it save bandwidth and server capacity it is also quick as hell rendering new content to the client without punishing them (too much) on first hit.

Possible outcome of the Facebook IPO: Early $38 buyers will see their stocks go through the roof early, trading them away at $50 - $60, making the interested crowd interested in buying the stock hoping that it will continue its marvelous climb, buying on top and then waiting for that magic climb to happen. Stabilizing where? They have to show some amazing numbers and buy some really revenue generating companies in order to live up to that valuation.

I was out running just now and thought it would be awesome if you could watch your or your friends best routes on runkeeper (or similar) using google map street view. The problem is that you often run where the google car cant reach. Google, or other map related service, it would be awesome with some “google-car-gear-light” that you could use when running or going places where the google car cant reach. 360-degrees camera + GPS and crowdsourcing the data. I guess if you made the data open some clever people could even mathematically choose the best pictures for each given location. Just a thougth.
